Squalene is found naturally in our bodies. The human body produces it but it peaks in our 20s and the amount decreases over time as age.

Squalene can be found in olives, sugarcane, wheat germ, rice bran and shark liver. However, squalene is very unstable. It is an unsaturated oil but when hydrogenated, it turns into a safer and fully stable product called squalane, a saturated oil with a long shelf life. Squalane is harvested popularly from olives (subject to seasonal factors affecting crop yield and quality), shark liver (unsustainable) and sugarcane (bountiful and stable). We chose sugarcane, harvested from 100% plant-derived renewable sugarcane fields.

Being saturated, it is non-comedogenic, meaning it will not cause clogged pores. Its molecular structure mimics the skin natural sebum thereby it can be easily absorbed into the skin epidermis. It is very lightweight and will not leave a heavy or greasy feel after application.

Squalane is a natural moisturiser to the skin, replenishing what is lost as a result of aging. It is completely odourless and colourless and is very suitable for all skin types even sensitive and problem prone skin. It can help recovery of cracked or chapped skin, and soothes eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis.

Suitable for hair, it can also mimic hair natural sebum, providing moisture, adding shine and helping to maintain healthy hair.

And what’s not:
Formulated without parabens, sulphates, synthetic fragrances, artificial colours, oxybenzone, hydroquinone and triclosan.

Ingredients:

Directions:
Apply a few drops to clean face and neck. Gently dab onto skin until fully absorbed.

We recommend patch testing before use. Discontinue use if skin irritation occurs.

Store in a dark, cool place.
